Newman/Haas Racing's new driver Brazilian Cristiano Da Matta has won his second career win in Champ Cars with a victory in the Gran Prix of Monterry in Mexico.The win would seem to have been at the expense of Team Rahal's Kenny Brack who led for the first half of the race before experiencing ignition and brake problems. Gil de Feran the C.A.R.T. 2000 season champion battled against ill health to claim second place and yet another fight back from the rear of the field saw Canada's Paul Tracy take the last step on the podium.
